    Wallet Security Tips

    Ring Platform uses custodial wallets — your private keys are encrypted server-side with WALLET_ENCRYPTION_KEY and stored in ring-db. PIN-wrapped v2 encryption adds an extra layer for withdrawal operations. Follow these practices to avoid scams and account loss.

    Set a wallet PIN

    • Set a 4-digit PIN from your wallet security page. This activates v2 encryption — your private key is re-encrypted with PIN-derived entropy.
    • Use the PIN to authorize high-value operations: withdrawals, large transfers, wallet export.
    • If PIN verification fails repeatedly (wrong PIN), the operation is blocked server-side — no rate-limit bypass possible.
    • Never share your PIN. Ring staff will never ask for it.

    Verify the domain

    • Only sign in at your organization's official Ring URL (for example ring-platform.org or your white-label domain).
    • Check the lock icon and HTTPS in your browser before entering credentials or approving payments.
    • Bookmark the real site — do not follow links from unsolicited email or DMs.

    Never share secrets

    • Ring staff will never ask for your password, private key, or one-time codes.
    • Private keys are custodial — you do not see raw private keys in normal operation. Wallet export (when available) requires PIN re-verification.
    • Access tokens issued by the system are single-use, time-bound (15-minute TTL), and never stored in plaintext — treat them like passwords during their active window.

    Payment and transfer safety

    • Confirm recipient addresses character-by-character before sending on-chain tokens.
    • For store checkout, verify order totals and merchant name on the checkout screen before paying with credit balance.
    • If a deal pressures you to pay outside the platform, treat it as a red flag.

    Report suspicious activity

    • Use Contact or your admin channel to report phishing sites impersonating Ring.
    • If you suspect unauthorized access, change your password, review active sessions under Profile → Security, and revoke all wallet access tokens from the security page.
